I think that when you plan to meet up with a person for the first time, it is easy to create some sort of a preconceived notion based on things you may have heard about them. People who carry a reputation for good character, skill, precision or some incredible ability can often generate a sort of pre-projected self which breaks the ice or defines their introduction. We have all met people who are in reality very nice, but they did not quite match the dynamic image we had of them.
Aidan Storey on the otherhand, is one of those rare people who actually lives up to their reputation. He is not just selling a service or a technique, he is living his life in light. After just a few minutes in his company, the positivity in the room is palpable. I asked him how his path to healing started.
“I suppose it started when I was about seven,” said Aidan, “I was told that I had a gift.”
Aidan was on holidays down in Wexford where his Dad came from. “We were coming out of church and Dad was talking to this man. As we were saying goodbye he was shaking hands with us and he said ‘Oh, you have a really strong healer here Aidan, you need to watch him.’ That was it, very simple, but it was something which stuck with me. I didn’t know what a healer was, and, I didn’t find out until years later.”
Twenty-six years later, that’s about ten years ago, Aidan had been going through a difficult time in his life, so he went to a healer for a session.
“When I went there the healer said the very same thing as the man in Wexford, ‘you have a gift’, and she became my teacher. She said just go and do the work. Again, the first time I met Doreen Virtue she said that I should ‘just do the work’.” So, taking the message, he did go and do the work.
“When I began to learn, I discovered that Reiki gave me confidence and energy balance.” Aidan has now been practicing Reiki for about ten years and he is a Reiki and Seichem Master and Teacher. He has seen a huge transformation in Ireland in that time.
“As with most things in society there have been changes in attitude over the years,” says Aidan. “It’s much more open now. Ten years ago you might have been considered a little bit weird. There were much smaller groups. Now it’s more widespread and definitely more acceptable, and especially in the male field. There are definitely more men there now.”
Aidan started his healing practice by attending shows and holding clinics and knows how the area is constantly changing.
“I think people in Ireland are more aware now. They can get on the internet and they can find what they are looking for. There are more classes now, more people teaching, more shops advertising things.”
“I was at a fair in Japan during the summer. It was enormous. It was all new there and there was great interest in it. It reminded me of the fairs here when we started.”
“I think a lot of people have made their names now, and a lot of people know where to find them.”
As well as his own very busy practice, Aidan does a lot of workshops in the health shops and angel shops throughout the country.
“I’m really lucky, my workshops are always full and I have always got a waiting list for workshops as well and my Reiki classes are booked in advance.”
One of the courses he runs is the Angelic Healing Workshop. “It involves working with the energies of the Archangels through each colour ray of the rainbow. The importance is in feeling and experiencing the different energies, some stronger some more gentle.”
“It works on balancing the body’s own rhythm and health. It’s not unlike Reiki, but it is much gentler. People who do it and have previously done Reiki, can absolutely feel the difference. Where Reiki is very solid, the Angelic energy is much lighter. It is very effective and powerful in it’s healing and like all hands on healing it is based on the chakras.”
Aidan will be spending a lot of time teaching this year. “I’m doing a lot of group work and meditation. I was invited back to a Dublin inner city womens group to do more workshops, mainly ‘Connecting with your Angels’, and ‘Healing Angels of the Rainbow Light’. I will also be going back to Japan to do workshops and talks.”
He made his initial Japan contact through Margaret Neylon, “Margaret was looking for someone to do some readings in Japan, and that was two years ago this April.”
“The lady that organised the tour to Ireland invited me back to Japan, and since then, I have been back and forward two or three times a year. I absolutely love it. The people are lovely and their energy is beautiful.”
“It’s very easy, they are very accepting of what you teach. The Japanese are very well read, so they know something about what to expect and are not going into it blindly.”
“The Reiki and Holistic lifestyle works just as well in Japan as in Ireland. The Reiki falls very well with them, and they seem to adapt very easily to the concepts and the symbols. It’s not strange to them in any way and their energy levels are very high.”
“They are a very spiritual people, they are very like the Irish, a lot quieter, but similar energies. The classes are full and they want me to go back.”
Aidan does Angel Card Reading in Japan as well. “They absolutely love the card reading. It seems to be new, and seems to be hitting it big there. I’m booked out anytime I go. I stay in Tokyo, it’s big and hectic and I look forward to going back.”
In case you might have thought that it was all plain sailing though, just like everybody else, even healers like Aidan have to face their own doubts. “At one time I was going to give it up, but I got endless well wishes and calls and cards, so I stuck with it. Now I work three or four days a week, but I won’t do any more than four sessions a day.”
Aidan uses Reiki to find the source of pain. “I find now that I am dealing with hurts more than pain, and I am getting very positive results.”
“A lot of people who come to me have experienced some sort of abuse. The angels help me to see, hear and feel, and they guide me as to what I should do and say.”
“I don’t ask anyone to believe in anything, I personally believe in a god of energy, not a god of judgement. “Each person is master of their own destiny. We are all here because we are supposed to be, we have lessons to learn. Everybody has access to the pure white energy. It is this energy which infuses the spirit. The God within helps everybody, and everybody can become a healer for those around them.”
According to Aidan, modern society, for all its benefits, has created a new set of problems. There is a huge amount of healing to be done.
“The energy is changing. People can feel spiritually or emotionally empty, maybe it’s the price of financial successs or just the way society has developed.”
“There are more famous spirituality people speaking their minds now. That’s not to say that I put down religion, it has it’s place, but we are moving into a different light. The church opened me up to everything, it was my first path to light, and now that they are clearing out the people who should not be there, that is a good thing.”
“Healing comes from God, and I work with the Holy Spirit. The Spiritual Guides who help us on earth have lived in the past and they have reached perfection.”
“The Angel Healing technique which was learnt from Raphael, involves blowing colours into the Chakras. Angels blow the colours through me, and they align and adjust the chakras.”
I had to ask Aidan to describe what he feels they are. “Angels are created by God. They are like beams of energy, and, I see them with wings.”
